As a senior vice president for Pacific Oak Capital Advisors, Mr. Wainwright oversees and directs the origination, underwriting, financing and closing activities for acquisitions and joint venture opportunities in the Northeast United States for Pacific Oak Strategic Opportunity REIT. He also oversees asset management assignments on a nationwide basis.
Prior to joining Pacific Oak Capital Advisors, Mr. Wainwright spent seven years as managing director of acquisitions and asset management at Savanna Real Estate Fund II, L.P., a Northeast-focused opportunity fund. In that role, he managed a team of asset managers running the daily operations for a number of Savanna’s portfolio of properties totaling approximately 3.1 million square feet. Prior to Savanna, Mr. Wainwright was a co-founder of the restaurant company Cosi, Inc. He developed the chain into a nationally recognized brand with over 90 restaurants in 11 states. Mr. Wainwright’s primary responsibility was to run the real estate development and leasing side of the business. He oversaw market strategy, site selection, construction and property management. Soon after taking Cosi, Inc. public in 2002, Mr. Wainwright left the company to focus on development projects in New York City.
